Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated our 3-year-and-46-day anniversary Saturday evening. Yes that sounds kind of odd doesn’t it. Well we had an anniversary dinner planned the weekend after our 3-year anniversary, but I hurt my back and we decided to reschedule.

It was lovely and well worth the wait. We had a lovely and absolutely delicious dinner at V Mertz. For the first course we had escargot baked in danish havarti and crab cakes with fire roasted red pepper sauce. Both of which, were wonderful. Needless to say, the hubby didn’t try the escargot, but he really liked the crab cakes. For the main course I had grilled beef tenderloin with roasted corn and black bean risotto, gorgonzola-avocado cream sauce, and ancho chili oil. Mike had peppersteak (n.y. strip) with a brandy cream sauce and oven roasted baby red potatoes. Both plates were garnished with very yummy carrots and asparagus. I know that proper dinner etiquette is to leave a little on your plate, but it took all the self-control within me not to lick the plate clean.

The best way to describe dessert was quite simply orgasm on a plate. Mike had “Chocolate Cappuccino Decadence” and I had “Chocolate Pecan Toffee Mousse”. Both were wonderful. Mike was unimpressed with the decor of the restaurant. I thought it was charming. It had a rustic, French bistro feel. We both agree the dinner was absolutely marvelous. We only wish we could afford to dine there more often, but the truth is that we dined on my former (and missed) boss. He gave me a $100 gift certificate to V Mertz for Christmas.

We left the restaurant and walked back to my workplace, since that is where I parked the car. We passed 2 Speeder Bike Scouts, 1 Storm Trooper and 1 Jedi Master on the way. I kid you not. The Jedi was about to get lucky with a cute young girl fondling his light saber. The Storm Trooper had the words, “ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US” on the back of his costume. It was all kinds of crazy.

We finished off the evening by watching a late showing of The Punisher. We walked away with some mixed feelings. See review…

Baby, thanks for the 5 years of happiness and 3 years of wedded bliss. I look forward to the many years to come. I love you….BISCUITS!

“I know that proper dinner etiquette is to leave a little on your plate…”

That’s a bunch of cow caviar! At those prices?? You better clean your plate. How else they gonna know you’re done?

Think of all that waste. There are starving children in AMERICA!!

Lucky, lucky you!! That is absolutely one of my all-time favourite restaurants! Steak au poivre…mmmmmmm!! Though the beef tenderloin sounds scrumptious as well! And Chocolate. Pecan. Toffee. Mousse!!!! You’re killin’ me! My mother used to get that for Christmas every year….we’d heat the toffee and serve it over the most delicious chocolate decadence I’ve ever tasted, garnished with some fresh raspberries!

That settles it! I think I need to find myself a rich doctor who’s very non-traditional and open-minded. I know, I’m dreaming!

I LOVE your new look— great looking blog— I enjoyed all the pics— I am one of those people that really appreciates seeing my cyber friends— it is so easy to “depersonalize” people over the net— seeing you and your hubby—as opposed to just a name is so neat— you guys make quite a handsome couple!!! God bless!
