Recipe Save: Candied Bacon

Origin:  Modified from a recipe provided by catering at work
Total Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Actual Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Number of Servings: 6-8


  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 pound lean sliced bacon

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. Process pecans in a food processor 20 seconds or until finely chopped or crush in a plastic freezer bag using a rolling pin. 
  3. On a plate, combine the sugar, flour, and pecans and mix till well blended.
  4. Line a baking sheet (the kind with a lip around all edges) with parchment paper.
  5. Dredge the bacon slices in the mixture, arrange the slices close together on the lined baking sheet.
  6. Spoon remaining mixture onto bacon and press into the bacon.
  7. Bake till browned and almost but not quite crisp, about 30 minutes.
